Li Crímines de Cnocorran

Li crímines de Cnocorran is an original novella written in Interlingue. Framed as a confession to the police, it is narrated by Aratz, an old man and the last survivor of the Tuat family, one of only two families who, for generations, made up the entire population of a remote, fictional highland district called Cnocorran. The story traces the long-running feud between the Tuat and the rival Beostok family, beginning with a crime committed in 1749 and reignited across later generations, through the Spanish Civil War, and into a cycle of retaliation that consumes both households. Written as an unapologetic first-person account by its narrator, the novella is less a conventional mystery than a study of inherited hatred and rural isolation, carried forward matter-of-factly by someone recounting it without remorse.
