La xerca per Pahoa (2020) is the first original novel written in Lingua Franca Nova. It follows the journey of Joan, a knight who leaves the kingdom of Lincuo in search of the sword Pahoa, a legendary weapon that only the kingdom's true heir can wield. The novel draws on J. R. R. Tolkien's poem "Namárië" and the Cantar de Mio Cid, and the sword Pahoa itself echoes Excalibur. It was first published online in May 2020, with language revision by Simon Davies, and in print in 2021.
