Poemas

Poemas is my first original poetry collection in Interlingua. Composed of twenty-four untitled poems, the collection is centered on romantic love and explores the emotions of attraction, longing, separation, devotion and happiness. Many of the poems describe the intensity of being in love, from the first attraction and the discovery of a beloved to the desire for closeness and the fear of losing it, while others focus on the pain of distance and the hope of reunion. The poems frequently draw on images of the moon, stars, night, travel and the natural world, alongside references to figures from classical mythology and to God. The book also contains several poems about Interlingua itself, presenting the language as a daughter of Latin that has returned from obscurity to give new life to ancient words and ideas.
