Subuqti

Subuqti was first published in Interlingue in August 2022, followed by an Interlingua version in December 2025. Set in 1618, the novel follows Aqarnaq, daughter of the chief of Subuqti (a small, perpetually snow-covered village on a remote Siberian island) whose people believe themselves cut off from the outside world. When Russian traders arrive at the island, an old prophecy tied to the tribe's history begins to unfold, drawing together Aqarnaq's fate with that of Grigori, a young sailor from a persecuted religious minority who turns out to share more with her people than either expects. The novel also includes a full grammar and dictionary of Subuqti, an original constructed language created by the author for the story, drawing on Estonian, Finnish and several Inuktitut dialects. The book was also translated and published in Basque in 2026.
