Pensa

*Pensa* (2022) is Vicente Costalago’s prose work written in Linga, a constructed language created by S. C. Gruget in 2020 and designed to be easy to study. The work follows a person who leaves the city for a short retreat in the mountains, seeking silence and distance from the pressures of everyday life. Surrounded by nature, the protagonist reflects on fear, uncertainty, work, self-confidence and the difficulty of knowing what to do with one’s life. Across the different sections, the narrative develops as an introspective journey in which solitude and contact with nature create space for philosophical reflection. References to works and ideas from the Bible, Taoist philosophy and classical and European literature accompany the protagonist’s thoughts on mortality, happiness, personal fulfilment and the passage of time. The contrast between the hurried rhythm of city life and the slower pace of the countryside is central to the work. Rather than presenting a conventional plot-driven narrative, *Pensa* focuses on an inner journey: the attempt to confront fear, reconsider one’s choices and discover a more meaningful relationship with oneself and with life. The work ultimately explores the importance of pausing, thinking and finding the courage to change.
